AMMAN, JORDAN – May 12, 2026 – Jordan Media City has strengthened its broadcast distribution infrastructure through a collaboration with TVU Networks and its regional partner MEBS, introducing advanced IP-based content delivery capabilities powered by TVU MediaHub.
The deployment marks an important step in JMC’s ongoing infrastructure development, adding cloud-native connectivity and flexible IP distribution to complement its established broadcast operations.
For more than 20 years, Jordan Media City has supported broadcasters and media organizations across five continents. As distribution requirements have continued to evolve, the need for a more agile and scalable approach has become increasingly important. Traditional expansion often required extended planning, additional infrastructure, and fixed capacity commitments, making it more difficult to respond quickly to changing operational demands.
According to Mohammed Tarawneh, Teleport Technical Support (DVB) at Jordan Media City, the shift in the broadcast industry over recent years has created a growing demand for faster and more flexible distribution. Clients increasingly need to expand to new destinations, increase capacity during major events, and adapt their operations without being tied to rigid long-term infrastructure. For JMC, the priority was therefore to implement an IP-based solution that could provide this flexibility while continuing to meet the reliability standards required for 24/7 broadcast operations.
TVU MediaHub: Reliable IP Distribution for Continuous Broadcast Operations
TVU MediaHub was developed to give broadcasters a more flexible and cloud-driven approach to IP distribution without compromising the reliability expected from professional broadcast infrastructure. At Jordan Media City, the platform has been implemented with a strong redundancy model designed to support continuous operation across the entire distribution network.
The current workflow distributes five channels to seven receiving locations. Each channel operates with both a main feed and a backup feed running in parallel. As a result, every destination receives two streams per channel, creating 10 simultaneous streams at each site and 70 active streams across the full network.
This architecture provides an important level of protection. If the primary path experiences an issue, the backup path is available to maintain service continuity without requiring manual intervention. The result is a more resilient distribution environment capable of supporting broadcast operations around the clock.
To further strengthen system availability, MediaHub is also integrated across the backup workflow using two separate cloud regions. This separation helps ensure that any disruption affecting the primary cloud environment remains isolated from the backup infrastructure.
Beyond redundancy, the deployment gives Jordan Media City greater flexibility in how it manages future growth. New channels or destinations can be added as customer requirements change, without the need for a major infrastructure redesign. While the current setup supports five channels and seven destinations, the architecture is designed to scale as demand increases.
Emad Qawasmi, Managing Director – MENA Region at TVU Networks, highlighted the importance of long-term regional cooperation, noting that TVU continues to work closely with broadcasters across MENA to help them expand their operations and respond more efficiently to changing market requirements.
Ahmed Alanis, Head of Solutions MEA at TVU Networks, also emphasized the broader value of IP-based distribution, explaining that the Jordan Media City deployment demonstrates how cloud-native flexibility can be combined with the reliability and performance standards required in professional broadcast environments.
With more than two decades of experience in IP-based broadcast workflows, TVU Networks continues to support broadcasters worldwide with solutions designed for mission-critical transmission, production, and content distribution.
